Podcast with Maia Aziz
Hey gang - do you like to laugh? Then boy do I have a treat for you! This weeks podcast guest is Maia Aziz who is - guess what - a certified humor professional. OH MY GOSH!! Can you imagine anything cooler? I had the privilege of meeting Maia at a positive psychology conference and I am so thrilled to have been able to invite her on the podcast as my guest..can't wait for you all to listen.
Maia dreams of a future where giggles matter as much as gigabytes, having a good connection has nothing to do with your cellphone service and everyone gets that we’re all just muddling through this thing called life as best we can.
As a Social Worker with more than 20 years of experience, Maia has worked with countless children, families and healthcare professionals in a variety of Health and Social Service institutions, most recently as Assistant Administrative Chief of Allied Health Services at the Montreal Children’s Hospital (McGill University Health Centre.) She is a Certified Humor Professional (CHP), a Certified Laughter Yoga Leader (CLYL) and host of the talk radio show Morning Moments on Blogtalkradio.
A member of the Association for Applied and Therapeutic Humor and the International Society for Humor Studies, Maia’s writing has been featured in Inspirations News, True Colours Magazine and The Positive Psychology People and her message of facing life’s adversities with humor has been met with hearty guffaws across the country, most recently at the World Summit on Positive Psychology in Toronto, Canada.
When she’s not writing or speaking about heart-based leadership and how humor can boost resilience, Maia can be found riffing puns with her 6 kids, asking Siri for profound life advice or perfecting her sourdough recipe one rock-hard doorstop at a time.
