Vacation Workouts

Hello my summer friends.

Don’t you just love the warm weather… being able to stay active outside is the best. There are so many ways to move… biking, walking, trail running, gardening, hiking, swimming, tennis, rock climbing, paddle boarding. Well you get the picture, I really like being outside. I know some of you have very strict workout routines, and the summertime activities are a dream come true. I also know that more of you are just trying to move, and not being in your regular environment can set you back. Vacations can really get you out of the grove.

If you can get to the gym, awesome but if not there is always things you can do with or without equipment and with very little space.

Here are my go-to tips on how to get your body feeling great anywhere

1. Squats, Push-ups and Sit ups - (check out video) Your goal is to get in 3 Rounds of 10 to 20 reps of each exercise,or as many as you can do with awesome form.

You want to go right from the squats to the push-ups and then finish with sit ups That is One Round. It is your workout, your pace, your body, you do your best. If you only get one round in, that is OK. I just want you to move.

2. Aerobic activity or Cardio This is so easy if the weather is nice, try anything I mentioned at the beginning, or invent something. Just walking around sightseeing is great exercise.

On rainy days you can still do plenty of things to keep your heart rate up. Here are just a few: Mountain climbers

  • Jumping jacks
  • March in place
  • Run up and down the stairs
  • Dance around to your favorite tunes… The possibilities are endless

3. Start A Movement

Get your head in the right zone by realizing that your routine is going to be a little different on vacation. This is your time to relax, unwind, hangout with family and friends. All that matters is that you move for just 5 minutes a day, no matter what it is. And the best part is… it can be fun!

Most of this stuff you already know, I just want to remind you of all the different ways there are to move. I also want to remind you that the most important thing, mentally and physically is that you do something, anything to get your blood pumping.

Get creative, and send me some videos of what you did to move.
